Plan. Prepare. Dominate.

I was recently asked how I get ready for such hectic weeks. Everyone knows that I have a very active son who plays travel baseball, basketball,  and soccer, among many everyday activities that keep us on the run. Add in my personal responsibilities: training, work, coaching, home maintenance, laundry ... and weeks seem to fly by like we're on the set of Cool Runnings.

BOTTOM LINE: Life is busy.

But when it comes to successfully following my training and nutrition plans, as well as running the best fitness studio in Baltimore (my humble opinion), I have have have to prepare my week for this grab-and-go pace.

Sunday afternoon is when I spend a chunk of my time grilling my protein and about half of the veggies for week. I will wash and prepare my raw veggies. I will even dish out meals. This has been exponentially helpful for my late night dinners and lunches. All that's required is bing, bang, boom ... Dished. Microwaved. Served.

Subsequently, I prepare my business week in a similar fashion. I have specific, allotted times set aside to organize specific aspects of the business. Monday I meet with my Co-Owner & Founder Ben Supik to review business happenings. My calendar, reminder list, and alarms keep me in-check so I can balance this busy schedule and the lifestyle I enjoy living.

The point I am trying to make is that life is hard enough as it is without fitness and nutrition. We all struggle with the same things, but it takes a bit of planning and preparation to make it all work. It might seem like extra work looking in, but once you develop these positive "habits," it becomes like clockwork. Hey, if it was easy, wouldn't everyone do it?
